很同意王永平教授所講，奧巴馬展現了列根以來，最有感染力、最能激盪人心的領袖風範。

對盟友:
「The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep, This victory alone is not the change we seek. It is only the chance for us to make that change. And that cannot happen if we go back to the way things were.」
(前路漫長崎嶇，我們只能吋步攀移，選舉勝利不等我們追求的改變，只是締做一個機會，因循守舊，便不能成功)
對敵人:
「And to those Americans whose support I have yet to earn, I may not have won your vote tonight, but I hear your voices. I need your help. And I will be your president, too)

「Ann Nixon Cooper is 106 years old......And this year, in this election, she touched her finger to a screenand cast her vote, because after 106 years in America, through the best of times and the darkest of hours, she knows how America can change.」

(庫珀太太已經106歲，{呢位106歲嘅庫珀太太，係黑奴嘅後代，以前無資格投票。}就在今次選舉，她輕觸螢幕投票，因為經過一百六十年，歷盡興衰起跌，她知道美國可以改變。)

「And where we are met with cynicism and doubts, and those who tell us that we can't, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people. Yes, we can.God bless you. And may God bless the United States of America!」
(有人懷疑譏諷，說我們不能，我們以人民歷久常新的信念回應﹕我們可以，主祐你們，主祐美國!」
一場偉大演說、就造一個偉大領袖，由林肯邱吉爾以降、戴卓爾夫人、列根、克林頓，他們一篇篇激勵人心的演說，不但充滿人類智慧，亦成就了他們的大業。
對於我們的特首，與其冒上外交不當禮儀之大不諱、越過外交部邀請人家總統來港，倒不如認認真真思考人家的領袖風範，不要只懂發「脾四」，才是港人之福。
